The shift by educational institutions towards digital learning has resulted in an increased number of students and educators utilising the internet for both learning and teaching. In numerous developing Commonwealth households, students are increasingly using online learning materials and assessment tools via devices belonging to parents or older relatives.
Teachers, students, parents, and carers are now more vulnerable to cyber attacks than ever before as they face various security risks due to online and blended learning. Recent reports show an increase in cyber threats in the education sector, making cybersecurity a top priority for educators.
The Cybersecurity Training for Teachers (CTT) course is designed to provide teachers with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and their students online and create awareness for parents and carers.
The five-week course is designed for secondary and primary school teachers, teacher educators, and other education practitioners. It will take up to five hours per week. Participants will learn through articles, case studies, videos, practical activities, webinars, and discussions with other students and mentors.
